Knitters loom weaver Tina took delivery of her new 28 inch loom and stand on Tuesday at Spinning School – within three hours she had assembled, warped up and made this impressive start on her new chair covers. She warped up with some commercially spun Shetland yarn which I sell and used her own handspun for the weft. The result is very subtle and lovely. The Shetland Yarn comes form Pat Rampton’s flock at New Barn Farm. I like to support my pupils wherever possible and sell a range of yarns from known flocks in the area; these include Hebridean, Shetland, Portland and Leicester long wool yarns which have all been commercially spun and are available in different weights at £14.99/100gms.
