Tomorrow spinning school is postponed until 17th Sept – apologies – I’m hopeless with dates – always getting them wrong and confusing everyone – sorry – will try harder!
Due to the funeral of my dear friend Lorna on Tuesday I have to postpone Spinning Silk, Alpaca and fine fibres until Tuesday 19th September. Meet at Albany lodge for drinks and lunch to launch the new studio, then to Village hall for lunch and spinning until 4.30pm. I am sorry for the inconvenience. Pam
Austin, my son, brought the steps he has made for my studio last Friday; he designed and made them himself and my youngest grandaughter helped paint them. My son in law Mark did the woodwork and it matches the floor. I am so pleased. My family and friends have built the whole thing for me! It […]
Someone tried to hack my computers last week. She left me her name and IP number! Anyone like to know or guess who it is who finds me so interesting?
The shelves are beginning to fill up in my new studio, will soon need some more..
My Knitters loom will be waiting for beginners to Have a Go at Weaving in the marquee at Fibre East.
Jenny came with me to IKEA on Saturday to fit out the studio – I chose a range called Borgsjo and put up these three units yesterday- it didn’t take long and left me time to make strawberry jam and take my elderly Mother shopping in Waitrose; she likes picking things off the shelves from her […]
I have started to put things into my new studio on the (temporary) table – am taking a trip to IKEA with my daughter Jenny to find some storage solutions.
You can try any Ashford wheel in my new studio – Joy, Traditional, e-spinner, Kiwi2 and the Country Spinner- brilliant if you want to make a yarn that resembles the original fleece such as this Shetland.
Jane had a couple of little admirers at Fernie Country Fair on Sunday – they got quite cosy in one of my shetland haps which was draped over a chair
The Bouclé technique is a useful and easy way to make unique beautiful yarn and not difficult to learn. It incorporates fibres that are hardly spun at all, into stable finished yarns, using fine thread such as silk or cotton. If you have some fibre sitting around that is just beautiful but don’t you can’t decide what to do with […]

There is nothing more satisfying than wearing your own work – it also saves a lot of money, has a low carbon footprint and makes an excellent item for Show Case at our Woolly Social Days on the fourth Saturday in the month. So as well as the pleasure of spinning and knitting we have […]
Spinning will be at Loddington Grange tomorrow 17th April, from 1pm until 4.30pm. (Bring your own lunch)
We feature strongly in the UK’s leading magazine for spinners this month with the lead article over the first four pages and again on page 34 where I submitted the first two paragraphs about how the Guild of Long Draw Spinners came into being. I was very pleased when the editor asked me to contribute […]
