Woolfest was at its most wonderful and best. Although I did 2007, 8, 9, and 2010 as chair of Guild of long draw spinners, this was my first time as a visitor. I was never happier than this last weekend, lovely place, inspired and talented people doing lovely things with wool, and all serenaded by local musicians who were just as talented. What Joy. Had wonderful time among wool, artisans, sheep societies and heard a brilliant talk/demo on the Primitive Breeds of the Rare Breeds Trust by the previous president. Lots of creative people doing inspired things with wool, silk and alpaca – I loved this cartoon too. Bought some superbly crafted boxes from the Hebridean Society stand, beautiful dyed rovings from Oliver Twist, three big old bobbins from Jan at the Threshing Barn – always a pleasure to deal with her – which I shall use to support more new bobbins on my stand at Fibre East. Stayed at Linskeldfield Holiday Cottages where 6 fresh eggs were waiting for us on the table – a delightful start to a lovely trip…think it might be an idea to book the cottage for next year…Yvonne and Mike sent word round the other guests to join us in the Games room where all the ‘woollies’ gathered for a social evening…home from home really.

Sounds like bliss, I don’t think I would have wanted to leave.
