I have almost finished the Old Shale section of my latest Shetland Hap…it is knitted on circular Knit Pro Rosewood needles and I increase the needles size as the shawl grows – this is necessary if you wish to maintain a pattern that runs all the way round without any obvious corners as in traditional designs.

Not me but reared, shorn, and hand dyed by Emma Boyles – see http://www.thelittlegreysheep.co.uk The yarn is a mix of Stein lace yarn and Gotland/Shetland lace weight yarns – I am having great fun with it – this is the first time I’ve purchased yarn since I started spinning in 1980 something – the yarn is very lovely.
