Here is Audrey’s first weaving – the yarn was specifically chosen to match the curtain fabric. The rug, not yet finished, will eventually go at her French door to complement the curtains. It is sure to make a very harmonious picture.
Pat discovered that she has a natural talent for weaving as this sample of her first rug shows. The rosette is by Jane – another weaver on the course – she does rosettes for birthday’s, weddings and all sorts of occasions and events…so I ordered some to commemorate our highly successful course.
Here is Jane having a chuckle as she comes to the end of her first weaving project – a twill rug in two colours and a variety of patterns. Diana, in the background, is concentrating hard.
No tutor can inspire anyone else unless they are passionate about their subject. Our tutor Judith is never happier than when sitting at her loom. Here, she is helping out Frances with her Navajo project – and very happy about it too.

Tea, cakes and weaving go together so well – Audrey’s birthday today was yet another excuse for indulgence. Good thing the course only lasts four days…
It is always good to take a break after an intensive spell of weaving. So, we took advantage of the lovely weather and had a picnic lunch on the lawn. Very civilised!
Some people seem born to weave – Here Pat takes a breather from the complex pattern in two colours she mastered after only weaving just a few inches of twill beforehand. Straight in off the deep end.
