This ham was a Christmas present – it came with two very sharp thin knives and a video showing how it should be carved. Our friends Nicky and Philip tackled it first, when it came back I sawed off the hoof as it put me off and wouldn’t fit in the fridge (fridge is not necessary apparently but I prefer to keep it in there). Two weeks ago Julia and Jonathan took it home and ate a fair bit, now it is back at Albany Lodge again so I’m going to take it to Woolly day today. There is no hurry to eat it as it will keep for months, but it is very nice to share such lovely things when there is an abundance such as this. It still weighs about three or four pounds.
